Ingredients

  • 400 g sausage meat or sausages (casings removed)
  • 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200 °C and line a tray with baking paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half lengthwise. Spread the sausage meat evenly down the center of each strip.
  3. Roll up each strip and seal the long edge with a fork.
  4. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using).
  5. Slice each long roll into small bite-sized pieces (about 3–4 cm each).
  6. Place on the tray and bake 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed.

Extra ideas

  • Add a little grated cheese or finely chopped onion to the sausage meat
  • Serve with ketchup or BBQ sauce on the side
