Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 15–20 minutes Makes: 20–24 addictive little bites

Ingredients

  • 20–24 mini frankfurters, cocktail sausages, or regular hot dogs cut into 3–4 cm pieces
  • 1–2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry (or canned crescent roll dough works too)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for golden shine)
  • Optional toppings (these take them next level):
    • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds
    • Everything bagel seasoning
    • Grated parmesan or cheddar
    • Pinch of sea salt

For serving (must-have!): Ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, ranch — little dipping bowls make it fun

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (360 °F) and line two baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry and cut into thin strips about 1 cm wide and 10–12 cm long (or just slightly longer than needed to wrap around your sausage).
  3. Wrap each mini sausage snugly with a strip of pastry in a spiral (like a little bandage — leave the ends peeking out so they look cute). Place seam-side down on the tray.
  4. Brush the tops generously with beaten egg, then sprinkle your chosen topping.
  5. Bake 15–20 minutes until the pastry is puffed and deep golden brown. They smell like pure happiness when ready!
  6. Serve warm on a big platter with dips — watch everyone fight over them.

Extra ideas

  • Cheesy version: add a tiny sprinkle of grated cheese before rolling
  • Pigs in blankets deluxe: wrap with bacon first, then pastry
  • Breakfast twist: serve with scrambled eggs and maple syrup dip

The cutest, most moreish party snack on earth — gone in 60 seconds flat!
