Ingredients
- 1 medium apple
- 10 cherries, pitted
- 1 peach
Method
- Peel and chop the apple, then place it in a saucepan and cover with boiling water.
- Simmer gently until the apple has softened.
- Remove the stones from the cherries and chop them.
- Peel and chop the peach into chunks.
- Drain the cooked apple and blend it together with the cherries and peach until smooth. Add a little cooled boiled water, breast milk, or prepared infant formula if a thinner consistency is needed.
Helpful Tips
- Introduce one new food every 3–5 days to help identify any allergies or food sensitivities.
- Avoid adding salt, sugar, honey, or stock cubes. Honey should never be given to babies under 12 months of age.
- Breast milk or prepared infant formula can be mixed into the purée to create a familiar flavour and smoother consistency.
- Freeze extra purée in ice cube trays. Once frozen, transfer the cubes to freezer-safe bags or airtight containers.
- Use frozen purées within 1–3 months for the best quality.
- Reheat until piping hot, then allow the food to cool before serving.
- Never refreeze thawed baby food.
Homemade fruit purées are a simple way to introduce your little one to naturally sweet flavours while providing wholesome nutrition with every spoonful.
