Hey moms, let’s check in with each other today.

The holidays can be magical… but they can also be heavy. Stressful. Sad. Disappointing. Sometimes all at once.

This Christmas feels very different for us. For the first time, we were able to shop in advance, no rushing, no last-minute panic. I’ve been able to buy little goodies throughout the year and really spoil the kids, and my heart is so full because of that.

But this hasn’t always been our story.

There were years when Christmas felt overwhelming and depressing. Times when we didn’t know if we’d be able to celebrate at all, or if the kids would get anything. And even though I knew gifts weren’t what mattered most, I so badly wanted to give them something special, especially when they already went without so much during the year. Somehow things always worked out at the last minute, but the anxiety, the rushing, the knot in my stomach… I didn’t enjoy the season at all. While others celebrated and prepped with joy, I dreaded every moment.

This year, I’m deeply grateful. Things aren’t perfect, but they’re better and for the first time in a long time, I’m actually enjoying the festive season.

I know there are many reasons this time of year can feel exciting… or incredibly hard.

So tell me, how are you really doing?

What are you excited about?

Or are you struggling and could use some virtual hugs?

This is a safe space. Let’s listen, support, and remind each other that we’re not alone
