Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 200 g bacon, cut into strips or bits
  • 500 g pasta
  • 125 g Ina Paarman’s Basil Pesto
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Heat butter or olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the bacon and fry until crispy.
  3. While the bacon cooks, bring a pot of salted water to boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the pan, then add the pesto and mix until all pasta is evenly coated.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, add the bacon, and mix well.
