Where It All Began – The Story of Mom It
My lifelong passion for food began in my mother’s kitchen. As a child, I stood on a stool beside her, hands dusted in flour, learning that cooking was never just about feeding people—it was about bringing them together. Family gatherings revolved around the table: the aroma of slow-simmered sauces, the clatter of dishes being passed around, the easy laughter that only happens when everyone feels at home. Those moments shaped me more than I realized at the time.
When I finally had my own kitchen, that early love deepened. With my husband frequently working overseas, evenings were quiet, and MasterChef Australia became my nightly companion. I cooked my way through every season—sometimes twice—experimenting, failing, and celebrating small victories. When our first son arrived, I pureed his first foods from scratch and discovered a new layer of joy in feeding the people I love most.
Life, however, is rarely a highlight reel. There were seasons of loneliness, self-doubt, anxiety, and the heavy feeling that everyone else was managing motherhood better than I was. In those moments, I craved honesty—a place where the mess and the magic of raising children could coexist without apology.
That longing became the foundation for Mom It.
I wanted to build a space that felt like a friend’s kitchen: warm, real, and free of judgment. A community where mothers could share what actually works (and what definitely doesn’t), exchange practical advice, and remind one another that we’re all figuring it out as we go.
What started as a personal blog has grown into a trusted professional resource designed specifically for busy parents. Every recipe is created and rigorously tested in my own family kitchen—three times—by a real mom who understands tight budgets, tighter schedules, and the daily chaos of raising children.
And we’re just getting started.
In the coming months, I’m excited to launch my first recipe books, new blog series exploring mindful cooking and mental wellness, and the Mom It app—complete with voice-guided instructions, smart timers, automatic grocery lists, and direct connection to our supportive community.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to real moms, real life, and really good food—made and shared together.
With gratitude,
Marina
